Dan Thompson

Dan Thompson, age 90, of Pikeville, KY., passed from this life, Sunday, February 21, 2021. Dan was born to the late Jake and America “Huffman” Thompson, in Pikeville, KY., June 5, 1930.

Besides both of his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Thompson; children, Diana Kay Thompson and Dana Thompson; grandson, Paul Brandon Collins; siblings, Bobbi Corbin and Joe Thompson.

Dan is survived by his children, Donna Lynn Thompson and her companion, Charles “Chop” Blackburn; son, Danny Thompson; granddaughters, Crystal Pope, Tracy Cain, Deanna Sargent, Latisha Thompson; grandsons, Jeremy Don Collins; great granddaughter, Maddie Grace Hall as well as three more great granddaughters and five great grandsons; and a special son in law, Paul Collins.

Dan was a loving humble man. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and adored him.

The family will accept friends at Thacker Memorial Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM for visitation. Funeral services for Dan will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Terry Adkins officiating. Burial will follow services at Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY.
