Obituary

Willie McCoy, age 88, of Island Creek in Pikeville, KY., passed from this life, August 27, 2019. Willie was born to the late Carson and Pricey “Cochran” McCoy, March 6, 1931 in Pike County, KY.
Besides both parents, Willie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Daisy Mae McCoy; one son, Randy McCoy; two sisters, Alice Bolben and Mary McCoy; and two infant brothers.
Willie is survived by two sons, Willie T. McCoy and his spouse, Brenda, Ronald McCoy and his spouse, Donna Lou; three daughters, Pricey Ellen May and her spouse, Donnie, Betty Sue Basney and her spouse, Gordon, Peggy Ann Sawyers and her spouse, Layton; grandchildren, Billy, Tina, Brandi, Melissa, Donna, Angela, Chrissy, Gordie, Ronald Conrad, David, Daisy, and Layton Jr.; great grandchildren, Ryan, Kori, Ethan, Abbi, Rylan, Dewey, Donovan, Brady, Tanner, Mackenzie, Makayla, Cassidy, Karly, Lilly, Shanda, Chole, Layla, Brynlee, Leah, Jackson, great great grandchild, Sky; brothers, Victor McCoy, Orville McCoy, Sam McCoy; daughter in law, Bev McCoy.
Willie was an adored husband, devoted father and a treasured grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. Willie served his Nation proudly in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Willie will be certainly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will accept friends at Thacker Funeral Chapel, Friday, August 30, 2019 at 6:00 PM and Saturday, August 31, 2019 all day. The funeral services will be Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Thacker Memorial Funeral Chapel with burial following at Annie E. Young Cemetery. Old Regular Baptist will be the officiating all services honoring the life of Willie McCoy with DAV Honors observed by the Johns Creek Chapter #166.Arrangements are entrusted to the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville, KY.

Love the picture and loved this man. He never changed. Always a big smile and a hug for me any time I saw him. Now whether he was always laughing with me or at me and my antics I'm not too sure of, but I was always glad to see him and know he enjoyed seeing me. He was one of those people that actually meant it when he asked how you were doing and would do anything to help you that he could. I know how much he loved and missed Daisy so I know his heart is happy being with her and the Lord. I will miss and think of both of you often......and with a smile. Much love and prayers for their broken hearted family.
