Dorothy (Weddington) Gross, 83, of Stone Coal Road, lost her battle with Alzheimer’s; and was reunited with her late husband at the home they shared since 1963.

She is the daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Weddington/ Susie (Bunch) Weddington; and the beloved widow of Emerson Gross.
She is survived by five sisters, and one brother: Maydel (Herbert) Cochern of Stone Coal; Jetann (James) Burnette of Stone Coal; John Stanley Weddington of Inez; Avanail (Ava) (Columbus Sward) Mitchell of Clevengers Branch; Rita (David) Carter of Stone Coal; Sandra (Steven) Slone of Stone Coal; as well as several nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces, and nephews.
Life without Dorothy will certainly be sad and lonely. Everyone that knew her has such fond memories. She was kind, hardworking, a good neighbor, devoted wife, wonderful loving daughter, and sister; A mother figure, grandmother figure, and in her earlier years, a caregiver to numerous children.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, July 19, 2019 for visitation from 6-9 PM with services starting at 7 PM with Jerry Bliffen officiating all services. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Bunch Cemetery, Stone Coal KY.
