Charles “Charlie” Ray Wright, age 73, of Rocky Road in Pikeville, KY. passed from this life, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, KY. Charles was born February 3, 1945, to the late William and Nora “Webb” Wright in Johnson County, KY.

Besides both parents, Charles was preceded in death by one daughter, April Dawn Wright; three sisters, Carol, Lillian and Flema Wright; two brothers, Mitchell Wright and Lonas Elwood Wright.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of forty nine and a half years, Jacqueline Wright; two daughters, Tracy Syck of Pikeville, KY and Tessa and her husband Brian Mulkey of Harold, KY; four grandchildren, Megan Paige and Devin Keith Syck both of Pikeville KY, and Aaron Brian and Lucas Charles Mulkey of Harold, KY; one sister, Wilma Wright; two brothers, Harold and James Lowell Wright both of Pikeville, KY; his adored and loyal dog companions, Dexter and Fitz; and two cherished granddogs, Sophie and Max.
Charles was a devoted husband and father. Charles was the Co-Owner of Wrights Produce Market where he was known by many. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Charles was a Mason; a member of the Camp Branch Pentecostal Church in Whitesburg, KY; and was apart of the Betsy Layne DAV Chapter 169. Charles will certainly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
The family will accept friends at Thacker Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 6:00 PM with a special singing service beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM with DAV Honors conducted by Johns Creek DAV Chapter #166. Entombment will follow at the J.U. Thacker Mausoleum at Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY. Steven Ratliff and Ray Begley will be officiating all services for Charles.
Pallbearers for services will be, Devin Syck, Aaron Mulkey, Lucas Mulkey, William Bartley, Danny Davis and Tommy Justice. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Joe Adams, Jim Adams, Brian Mulkey, Dewayne Adkins, Harold Wright, and Lowell Wright.
