David Franklin  Phillips
David Franklin Phillips age 73 of Elkhorn City, KY. passed from this life on December 9, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.
He was born June 17, 1945 to the late Harold and Clara (Belcher) Phillips; Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two infant daughters Jo Ann Phillips and Cynthia Denise Phillips; and two brothers Harold Phillips Jr. and James Cline Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Matney Phillips; one daughter Elizabeth A. Myers (Scott): four grandchildren Evan Scott Myers, Ian Robert Myers, Andrew David Myers, Emily Elizabeth Myers all of Jacksonville, FL. ; one brother Billy Joe (Carol) Phillips of Marrowbone, KY.; three sisters Anna Jean (Russel) May of Pond, KY., Diana (Allen Jr.) Salyer of Spring Hill, TN and Renee Yates of Hayes, VA. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was of the Church of Christ Faith, an Army Vietnam Veteran, retired supervisor of the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals. He was a Master Mason and Shriner.
The family will receive friends at the Thacker Memorial Chapel Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 5 P.M. Church services will began at 7 P.M. with Daniel Weakley officiating. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. DAV honors will be conducted by DAV Elkhorn City Chapter #140. Burial will follow at the Spears Cemetery of Elkhorn City, KY.
In lieu flowers family request donations be made to the Little Beaver Church of Christ.
