Curtis Howell Thacker, 77, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born October 11, 1941 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late William Roy “Bill” and Roxy Adkins Thacker. On October 11, 1969 he was united in marriage to Betty Brown Thacker who preceded him in death on January 8, 2001. On January 26, 2013 he was united in marriage to Jean Barlow Thacker who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William “Bud” Thacker and wife Mary of Piketon, Phillip Thacker and wife Valerie of Piketon, and Kyle Thacker and wife Wendy of Waverly, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Stefan, Preston, Jayden, Mason, Corey, Kaitlyn, Greenlee, and Mahayla Thacker; three step grandchildren, Halee and Brooklyn Cassidy and Jessica Dunn; two step children, Jeanie Williams and George Barlow; 21 step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; a sister, Florietta Bryant; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife Betty he was preceded in death by two sisters, Roberta Coleman and Henrietta Thacker.
Curtis was a retired member of IBEW Local 369 in Louisville, Kentucky, a member of Masonic Lodge 0465 of Lucasville, Ohio. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Hamman Church, and a Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan.
The family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. The burial will follow in Thacker Family Cemetery on Rocky Road of Pikeville, KY.
