Obituary for James Damron

James Damron
James David Damron, 88 of Pikeville, KY passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at his residence.
He was born February 22, 1929 in Pikeville, KY to the late Emory Miles Damron and Katherine Roberts Damron.
James was a welder and proudly served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Bryant Damron; one son, Phillip Miles Damron; five brothers, Arnold Damron, Monroe Damron, Linton Damron, Jerome Damron, and Troy Ed Damron; and three sisters, Mildred Williams, Myrtle Mae Damron & Ora Mae Hurst.
James is survived by his loving grandchildren, Joshua C. J. Damron and Sonya Damron both of Pikeville, KY; one daughter-in-law, Tammie D. Damron of Pikeville, KY; and six great grandchildren Bryce Daniel, Joshua Bruce, Milea Renee, Xander Phillip, Carlie Jo & Kalob Cross.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will accept friends at the Sookeys Creek Fellowship Chapel for visitation on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. Monday January 22, 2018 with service at 7:00 P.M. with Frankie Bryant and Randy May officiating. The funeral will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Johns Creek DAV Chapter #166.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville, KY.
