Granville Perry, age 89, of Hellier, KY passed away at his residence surrounded by family Saturday, July 29, 2017. Granville was born February 22, 1928 in Pikeville, KY.
Besides both of his parents Mitchell and Rosie"Beverly" Perry, Granville is preceded in death by his loving wife, Easter Perry; two sons, Timmy Layne and James Clifford Perry, one daughter, Glenda Kaye Martin.
Granville is survived by three sons, Charles Edward Perry, Gregory Dale Perry, Darryl Mitchell; one special son, Bobby Mills; three daughters, Carolyn Sue Perry, Joyce Faye Belcher, and Tammy Bennett; an amazing host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Granville dedicated his life to our country through his service in the Marines. Granville was a devoted member of Chapter 140 Elkhorn City DAV as well as a soldier for our Lord with his membership at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church.
The family will accept friends at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Sunday and Monday, July 30 and 31, 2017 at 6:00 PM with nightly services at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY. Brother Ray Tackett will be the officiant of all services honoring the life of Granville Perry with DAV Honors observed by the Elkhorn City Chapter #140.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville, KY.
